Somalia hails new US aid mission in Mogadishu

H.E Abdirahman Omar Osman (Eng Yarisow), the Mayor of Mogadishu & the Governor of Benadir Region has expressed his satisfaction with the reestablishment of the USAID mission in Somalia.

The mayor said the restoration of the USAID mission offices in Mogadishu is proof of the deepening ties between Somalia and the United States, and a testament to the progress and development the city has made.

Mayor Eng Yarisow said, “It is indeed a very significant milestone, this is reflective of all the hard work and resilience Somalia is known for, and more so Mogadishu stands for”

The Mayor gave assurances that the USAID mission in Somalia would live up to the expectations in strengthening development partnerships and people to people cooperation between Somalia and the United States.

Mayor Eng Yarisow said “Mogadishu is ever rising, we are committed to making good on our promise of making this city and this country purposeful, prosperous, safe and secure”

The Benadir Administration had been striving to enhance efforts through projects geared towards growth, economic recovery, youth empowerment and social cohesion.

USAID Somalia and Benadir Regional Administration have an excellent partnership working and the establishment of USAID office in Mogadishu will strengthen our partnership working and delivery of basic services to our people.
